There Are Scholarships for All Kinds of Students
Scholarships can help students pay for colleges,
universities, community colleges, career schools,
trade programs, and other education after high school.
Scholarship requirements vary widely. Some awards focus
on academics, while others consider career goals,
community service, extracurricular involvement,
financial need, special interests, leadership,
work experience, or other qualifications.
The best strategy is simple:
start early, apply often, and pay close attention
to deadlines.

with scholarship opportunities from local, regional,
state, and national organizations.
Students should check the bulletin regularly throughout
the school year because scholarships are added as new
opportunities become available.

WCW Local Scholarships
Local Scholarship Season: February & March
Each spring, members of the Vacaville community,
local businesses, service organizations, clubs,
professional groups, and other generous donors
provide scholarship opportunities specifically
for graduating Will C. Wood seniors.
These scholarships help Wildcats continue their
education at colleges, universities, community colleges,
trade schools, career programs, and other specialized
schools.
We are grateful to the many community organizations
and individuals who continue to invest in WCW students.
Two Types of Local Scholarships
OPTION 1
Common Application Scholarships
The Common Scholarship Application allows students
to use one basic application to apply for multiple
local scholarships.
Each scholarship still has its own eligibility
requirements, so students must carefully review
the Common Scholarship Brochure before applying.

Review each scholarship description.

Apply only for scholarships for which you qualify.

Complete any special donor requirements.

Submit a separate completed packet for each scholarship.
OPTION 2
Individual Application Scholarships
Individual scholarships require a separate
application specific to that scholarship
or organization.
Requirements may include a particular GPA,
essay, recommendation letters, activities,
intended major, community involvement,
or other criteria.

2026-2027 Local Scholarship Materials
Class of 2027 Scholarship Applications
Local Scholarship Season normally takes place during
February and March.
Scholarship descriptions, deadlines, applications,
and instructions will be added as they become available.
Individual scholarship applications are available
through the
WCW Scholarship Download Center.
Students can search opportunities and download only
the applications they need.
Students should also continue checking the
WCW Scholarship Bulletin
throughout the year for additional local, regional,
state, and national scholarship opportunities.

How the Common Application Process Works
1
Read the Brochure
Identify the scholarships for which you meet
the eligibility requirements.

Complete One Application
Complete the Common Application but initially
leave the scholarship title at the top blank.

Make Copies
Make a copy for each scholarship and add the
appropriate scholarship title to each application.

Add Special Requirements
Attach any essays, transcripts, recommendations,
or other items required by the donor.
Local Common Applications Are Submitted as Hard Copies
Completed Common Scholarship applications and any
required supplemental materials should be turned in
to the WCW Counseling Office.
Electronic copies are not accepted for the
Common Scholarship Application process.
